In partnership with The New Home Company, the end of 2022 saw the groundbreaking for the next steps in connecting River Terrace Blvd with what will be the commercial center of the River Terrace Community in Tigard.
Intentionally placed at important crossroads and easily accessible from the east and west sides of Roy Rogers Road via a pedestrian underpass, the River Terrace Town Center will be a hub of community activity.
The Town Center will have 6 mixed-use buildings with commercial space below and residential above, along with 4 residential apartment buildings. It will also include a community park with active and passive recreation opportunities.
PCD applied a lens of walkability and accessibility during the planning process to connect the public to what is considered the heart of the River Terrace Community. The importance of accessibility was highlighted through community outreach and led us to incorporate the design of meandering pathways through the parks and connections to adjacent neighborhoods, perfect for family bike rides and creating a safe and comfortable space for bicyclists and pedestrians alike.
