We are officially one year past the final Monitoring and Maintenance Reports for our HCA Mitigation Area projects at Brick Creek and Cedar Creek in Gresham, OR. The mitigation work was conducted to compensate for HCA impacts associated with construction in a nearby subdivision. PCD’s Landscape Architecture team worked closely with a local Natural Resources firm to create a planting and implementation plan and worked with the developer to complete annual monitoring visits. We also provided recommendations to ensure the success of the planting area during the reporting period. We had fun mucking around in the field for each data collection visit, after which we generated status reports.
The final site visit included making final observations and comparing site conditions from the last report. Photos and notes were taken in the field and compiled in to the final report. Overall survival rate of planted plants from 2023-2024 was 98%, and the resulting recommendation was to plant only 9 additional plants. This mitigation project was a fun change from our typical rhythm and provided opportunities for our team to review the success of a project on an annual and long-term basis.
