This spring, PCD won a contract with the City of Tualatin to redevelop a neighborhood park with a design based on extensive community outreach completed in 2020, at the height of the pandemic.

Over 750 community members responded citing safety, diverse amenities, and maintaining the connection to the apartments on the Northern edge of the park as the most important components of the redesign.
This redevelopment is an amazing opportunity to provide the surrounding community with more amenities and provide elements that can help bring an underserved population a vital community gathering space.
Our commitment to safety and inclusivity is at the heart the Las Casitas Park redesign. We are proud to offer two interconnected playgrounds and a splash pad, providing welcoming spaces for children and families to come together. In addition, a basketball court promotes multigenerational play. To maintain a strong connection with the apartments on the northern edge, a meandering path gracefully links multiple community gathering areas.
This thoughtful design not only emphasizes safety and inclusivity but also infuses the community with beauty and vibrancy. An eye-catching mural, crafted by a local artist, will be designed to mirror the spirit of the community, adding an artistic touch to the surroundings.
This project is headed by our Landscape Architecture team and involves a multi-disciplinary approach with the inclusion of our engineering department to design stormwater management facilities and traffic calming measures. PCD looks forward to providing the community with designs and project management that builds on the vision previously produced through public engagement.
