The newest park in the Ridgeline development in Bethany, Oregon, had a smashing opening weekend, an event put on by Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation District at the end of September. Over 2 acres in size, Harvest Park is bolstered by two large play areas, a dog park, covered shelter with grilling stations, large undulating lawn play area and blueberry garden and represents a key success for public and private partnerships.
Over the last 7 years Harvest Park’s design has endured many ebbs and flows in the market, different owners, covid and several redesigns to become a centerpiece of the community. PCD’s Landscape Architecture team worked seamlessly with our client and THPRD staff in successfully creating a public space that supports the District’s mission to provide high-quality parks and recreation facilities that meet the needs of the diverse communities it serves. These goals directed each decision our teams made and resulted in an amazing public space that will enhance the neighborhood and help provide for healthy and active lifestyles while connecting residents and park users to nature and their community.
